Ombré (BarBar)

Ombré , a rooftop bar located along the Mint Road at Subroto Chowk, desires to manifest the spirit of the city–to represent in its contemporary avatar. Just like the city, Ombré is layered with various identities underlying the idea of movement and continuity. The ombré colour palette goes from soft powder blue to a strong navy blue–signifying the river Ganges–its calm yet powerful charisma. Complementing the scheme, are the fluidic light fixtures transcending into the river like holy lamps. The light frame arches anchor the space–an expression of the built character of the city.

​The aim of the design is to embody the tranquil and powerful identity of the city, while giving it a modern interpretation. The blue ombré colour palette — signifying depth and stability — is the strongest expression in the space, representing the boundless Ganges and sempiternal Varanasi on its banks.
