The Ivory House

Taking the client's vision as a cue, the concept was developed around the Victorian style–with a contemporary outlook. Initially this posed as a challenge, since Victorian architecture is characterised by maximalism, extravagance and clean geometric patterns–whereas the clients particularly emphasised upon a minimal design palette. This was tackled by various interventions in the colour and material scheme–the materials embody an earthy rawness, the cool colours add calmness, and the plants impart freshness.
